WorkCover, Transport Accident Commission and Department of Veterans Affairs will pay for consultations with a psychologist. For these services a referral from a GP is required. Victims Referral and Assistance Service and Victims of Crime Tribunal will cover psychologist’s fees for treatment of psychological problems after a crime.

New Medicare Rebate
Substantial rebates are now available from Medicare, for up to 12 individual consultations in a calendar year (in two groups of up to six services). Discuss with your GP eligibility for this and other Commonwealth government schemes to assist with payment of fees. A referral from a GP is necessary for these services.
